Murrumbateman ODE – Show jumping

Off for another day of photographing an equestrian event, this time I’m out to the Murrumbateman ODE (One Day Event – that run over two days – Weird right?).  These events combine show jumping, dressage and cross country.

The first day will have all the little tackers, so it should be day filled with cute kids riding their pony and hopefully come away with a ribbon.

I must say out of all the grounds I attend I really enjoy this ground and it think it is mainly due to the great cross country track and its feeling of being in the country.  The people are always great and a pleasure to deal with.

So wish me luck and hopefully I wont get trampled by crazed horses to go with the great shots I will get. 🙂

Spring Zing!!!

What a night I have ahead of me…  I have been commissioned to photograph the events at the annual Spring Zing for St Mary Mackillop Collage.

This event is what some would consider their year 10 formal except it is fancy dress….  Oh the fun I am going to have…

There is nothing more exciting to portrait photographer than 400 kids in full on fancy dress, with a on-location studio set-up…

Its going to be a very busy night but a heap of fun and I know there will be some really great images from it…

Now I best scoot off and finish packing my car with my lighting equipment, cameras, lens, stands, backdrops and a heap of batteries for all the strobes. 🙂

Stay tuned for some great images….

Footloose

It has been a long time since I have popped in the theatre to watch a play, so what better excuse to go than when you know someone that has the lead role…

So last night I took my daughter out to see Footloose at the ANU and I must say what an outstanding performance. Bravo

It was a full on 2 and a half hours of fantastic acting and entertainment.  My daughter and I just loved it and I must admit there were some really moving parts in there which I am sure brought a tear to the eye of some of the people in the audience.

One other thing:

Was it wrong that I spent a lot of the time looking at the lighting  on the actors and thinking of how I would frame the shot????

If only I could take my camera back and get some shots of these guys on set….  I know they would make some really special images and something that you can not normally capture without a lot of set-up.

Next time. 🙂

If you have some spare evening in the next week or so pop over and have a look, you will not be disappointed.

Wow what a night at the Benny Wills Gala Event!!!

The Benny Wills Gala Event went off like a fire cracker at Skyfire.  The night was filled with laughter, and tears. Joy and sadness. Selflessness and generosity.

It is something I am very proud to be part of, even if my part was onlyContinue reading “Wow what a night at the Benny Wills Gala Event!!!”
