Location Location Location!!!

As and event and portrait photographer I am always on the look out for new location where I can not only take my clients but also places where I can find inspiration for my own personal shoots.

Over the Easter break I got a chance to pop up to Goulburn to see a friend, so what better opportunity than to have a look around for some nice locations and boy they have a lot of places to offer…  🙂

From shitty lanes ways, to cathedrals, and hill memorials, there was a lot of places on offer…

So if you are looking for something different and want to travel, drop me a message and I am sure there are places there that will suit your taste and style, so you get the perfect images.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!!

Easter means different things to different people.  For some its about Jesus rising from the dead, others it about eating chocolate, while others it is a super long weekend to relax.

For me it’s a new beginning, as it represents new life, a time where we get to eat a lot of chocolate, relax and think about where we have been, and where we are going.

As I reflected over the last few years I remembered a self portrait Easter photo I took back in 2012.

Looking at this photo is reminded me that taking photos can be a lot of fun and while I take my business very seriously it is the silly and stupid moments that really stand out..  The memories of life, captured a frame at a time.

The fun and creativity that photography allows is something most of us never really play with…  So as you stuff your face with eggs and bunnies today…  have a bit of fun and try not to take life to seriously…

Go capture some great fun images and send them to me, as I would really love to see them and share them with the world.  🙂

Happy Easter and take it easy.

One of the great things about Easter is you get to eat lots of stuff that you don't normally eat... Strobe Info: 1 x 580 EX II rear left 1/32 power 1 x 580 EX II rear right 1/32 power 1 x Elinchrom Ranger Quadra with 100cm x 100 cm soft box.

Note: No bunnies or eggs were hurt in the making of this image…. Now of course after the image was made it was a great roast. 😉

Official Red Bull Photographer – Paper Wings

Now I have to be the first to admit that I new zip about the underworld of paper planes only a month of so ago…..

Well that was until a friend of mine was telling me about this guy she knows suffered from Cancer and how he changed his life through the flying of paper planes..

His story was run on ABC’s Australian Story and I must say very inspirational.  Now the cool thing about this story is that it was made into a movie….

I would urge you to go along to get both links below is it really is an amazing story.

A couple of the things I learned from this was that you just really need to let go and be happy and the other thing was……..  this business of flying paper planes is serious, real serious.

This competition is all around the world with the finalists flying to Austria to compete in the world Championships and its big business. The major sponsor is Red Bull and Qantas as the local major sponsor.

These guys compete for the longest distance, the longest airtime and aerobatics, which is also very amazing.

The camp competition is on today at the Australian Defence Force Academy here in Canberra, to which I have signed onto Red Bull to be there official Canberra Photographer but this even but other Red Bull events…..  😉

So if you are going to it make sure you say hello as the images will be distributed world wide, with the chances of them appearing in and on posters around the world and even in computer games….  YAY for your face being in computer games….

Emergency Morning!

What a great morning it was at the new fire station here in Layon Canberra.

It was a really big turn out with hundreds of people flocking through the doors and what a great little station it is..  Well thought out and one the community clearly wants to be a part of.

It is manned 24 hours a day and has all the tech stuff that you would expect from our emergency services these days. The trucks have GPS tracking allows for the command centre to determine which vehicle should be sent where.

How not sure if it was just me, but I think there was a large female contingency….. mmmm maybe it had something to do with fireman? ha ha ha ha

If you want to check out the photos they can be found by clicking on the event menu on the left-hand side. I know I took a couple of family shots, and if you’re one of those please feel free to download and keep a copy of the images for yourself. 🙂

One of the great things about being an event photographer is that I get to go to lots of cool events and with community events high on my list of favourites, it was a pleasure to be able to attend this one.

If you have an event coming up and need a photographer please get in touch.
